Case Studies: Coalitions and Employers are Disrupting the PBM Misalignment Status Quo

The National Alliance is continuously exploring how misalignment between employer needs and PBM service provider value propositions have affected employers and other and plan sponsors. There is growing risk for those that may not be fulfilling their fiduciary duty under the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA).

As the demand grows for PBM service providers to modify their business models to enable employers/plan sponsors to exercise their fiduciary duty, we conducted interviews with employers and coalitions nationwide to provide thought starters and inspiration for organizations that are exploring alternatives to current PBM vendors.
