WASHINGTON – August 22, 2024 – The National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (National Alliance) announced that Jenny Goins, MA, SPHR, has joined the organization as Chief of Staff. Goins was President and CEO of the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative (KHC) and an active member of the National Alliance having served on its Board of Governors.
“We’ve been fortunate to work closely with Jenny through her leadership of KHC and her service on our Board of Governors,” said Shawn Gremminger, National Alliance president and CEO. “Among the many qualifications that she brings to the organization are her commitment to our mission, her decades-long career as an HR and benefits professional for the state of Kentucky, and her experience guiding a leading employer coalition in our membership.”
In the newly created role, Goins will lead strategic planning and develop operational plans during this period of growth and change for the organization. As Chief of Staff, she will oversee three core functions of the organization: Events and Education, Healthcare Advancement, and Communications and Member Services.
Prior to leading KHC, Goins served in the Personnel Cabinet of the Governor of Kentucky as Deputy Commissioner and then Commissioner of the Department of Employee Insurance, overseeing benefits for roughly 300,000 state employees, retirees, and their families. Before her time in state government, Jenny spent almost a decade as an HR leader for two private sector employers. Prior to that, Goins served her country in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, serving as Commandant of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy and retiring from the armed forces as Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force.
“The recent strategic planning process undertaken by Shawn and the National Alliance team has energized me,” said Goins. “Making a difference with employers across the country as we work together to build healthier communities through healthcare quality, affordability, and equity is important to not only the National Alliance, coalitions and their employer/purchaser members, but to me personally.”
The National Alliance also welcomes Rita Rey as its Senior Manager, Communications and Member Relations. With a decade of experience in communications, she has dedicated the past seven years advocating for early childhood education for East Coast farmworker families and improving healthcare access for underserved communities. Rey was most recently the Communications, Marketing & Membership Manager for Advocates for Community Health.
