Purchaser Value Network

In order to create aligned payment policies among a critical mass of private and public purchasers to drive innovation and redesign of care delivery, the Pacific Business Group on Health has spear-headed a national initiative titled the Purchaser Value Network (PVN). The National Alliance supports this effort through the sharing of resources and communications with its own member network of business coalitions across the country.

The outcomes of this initiative will lead to improved health and affordability and has the following success measures:

  • A large number of employers adopt best practices in payment reform
  • Medicare payment policy that is aligned with employers’ and purchasers and sends a consistent signal to health plans and providers
  • Health plans and providers have adopted changes in payments resulting in innovations in care delivery, leading to improved affordability and quality
  • We have a healthy competitive marketplace which drives continuous innovation and improved value
