Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson recently accepted the position of President and CEO of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions). A Principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for the past 20 years, Thompson is a nationally recognized thought leader for business health strategies and health system reform. He has worked with major employers and other stakeholders on sustainable cost reduction, integrated health, wellness and consumerism, retiree health, private health exchanges and health reform. Known for developing and promoting collaborative cross-sector health industry initiatives, Mike participated on the steering board of the World Economic Forum’s “Working towards Wellness” initiative and co-founded the Private Exchange Evaluation Collaborative (PEEC). Prior to joining PwC, Mike served as an executive with diverse roles with Prudential Healthcare for over 17 years.

Mike is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, serving on the Health Practice Council, and chairs the Medicare Sub-Committee of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA). He is also widely recognized as a leading national advocate for mental health and well-being and was Past President of the New York City chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). Mike has also been an active member of the board of the Northeast Business Group on Health for the past 11 years.

Margaret Rehayem

Director of Initiatives & Programs

Margaret Rehayem is the Director of Initiatives and Program at the National Alliance. She is focused on supporting the development of cutting-edge initiatives and programs for the coalition and employer community. She brings with her over 15 years experience working with employers to manage their health and wellness strategies. She is a people-oriented leader with a creative and innovative spirit.

Over the years she has lead cross-functional teams both with employers and with community stakeholders focused on creating healthy environments and initiatives that implement effective organizational systems. She is a national speaker on healthcare topics including: Health Benefits Management, Consumerism, Health Care Reform, Leadership, Employee Engagement and the Impact of Health and Wellbeing on Organizational Systems.

Prior to coming to the National Alliance, she was part of the leadership team at the Midwest Business Group on Health, one of the leading business coalitions located in Chicago. Prior to that she created and developed a successful employee wellness program for a community college for 11 years and won the WELCOA Gold Award twice. She was appointed to the University of Wisconsin Health and Wellness Management Program Advisory Board back in 2013. She has been an adjunct faculty professor since 2008 and currently teaches corporate health and entrepreneurship at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Maria Cornejo

Director of Operations

Maria Cornejo, Director of Operations has been with National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions (National Alliance) since 1996.  Ms. Cornejo oversees the day-to-day operations of National Alliance and manages the full range of administrative, logistical, and operational duties in a wide variety of program areas including human resources, accounting, budgeting, board liaison, information technology, and assistance in program development.  Ms. Cornejo also manages, creates and develops the National Alliance website.

Ms. Cornejo is a Washington, DC native.  She is also bi-lingual (English & Spanish).

    Alyssa Barilotti

    Programs Assistant

Alyssa Barilotti, Programs Assistant is the newest member of the National Alliance. She graduated from Arcadia University with her dual B.As  in International Studies and French in the spring of 2016.  Alyssa has worked with the National Alliance since September.  Ms. Barilotti helps the Director of Operations manage the programs of the National Alliance in administrative and logistic tasks including social media management and website design.

Foong-Khwan Siew

Foong-Khwan Siew, PhD, MBA, Director of eValue8TM, is responsible for managing the eValue8 program, National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions’s national initiative to evaluate the performance of health plans. Ms. Siew has more than 20 years’ experience in the health care industry with different assignments in market research, promotion and marketing, including launch of the first and only chickenpox vaccine in US. She also has extensive experience working in international markets and different stakeholders in health care industry including purchasers, physicians, coalitions and plans.

Ms. Siew holds a BS in Math and Chemistry from Trinity University, a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, a Post doctoral from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Wharton. She is also bi-lingual (English & Cantonese) and speaks French and Malay/Indonesian.

 Cary Conway

 Director of Communications

Cary Conway, Director of Communications, is responsible for development of external communication materials and media relations. She has served as a consultant for National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions since 2004. Ms. Conway has consulted since 1999 and previously served in a variety of communication roles for Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector (now Freescale Semiconductor). Before joining Motorola, Cary managed public relations for an advertising and marketing agency and also held positions with a Dallas public relations firm.

Ms. Conway speaks on a variety of communications, media training and public relations topics. She holds a BS in journalism/public relations from the University of Kansas.
